Could not delete multiple messages in Linkedin

Linked in lacking in simple feature of deleting multiple messages

Today I am one frustrated Linkedin user.

Recently I tried deleting multiple messages from my inbox in Linked because I have them collected since years and guess what? I cannot bulk delete them.

It is not just me who is frustrated but many more which I found out from few Forums one of them was Linkedin itself.

I tried all the ways selecting them looking for words like trash, bin, basket, remove, delete, but it cannot be done.

I went through and selected each one of my message on a page, but then there is no trashcan to choose.

Updated on 2/09/2017 (The Help is here)

I posted the link to this article on LinkedIn and I must say what a great community I have there.
I got things done by workaround by a Linked member name

Here is the code Thanks to LinkedIn members, Joe Novalany and Peggy Duncan.

In the developer’s console in Chrome or Firefox run the following snippet:

$(‘.delete-action’).each(function() {
$(this).click();
$(‘button.yes-btn’).click();
});

Seemed to work perfectly for me.
You might need to repeat this code few times as it only deletes the message currently loaded on the screen.

Here is a YouTube Video as well

The code used in this video is in one line (its actually exact code as above :)) for those who gets scared of multiple line of the code.
$(‘.delete-action’).each(function() { $(this).click(); $(‘button.yes-btn’).click(); });

Here is the Link for you all.

The other resources I went to for help but do not read if you do not wish to go into details because all these sources led me to nowhere.

Linked in Forum/Blog

I tried finding the answers in Linkedin itself and came across a thread/forum. Lots of discussions but no concrete answers. I just felt little relieved when there were many like me who were facing the same issue.

Google results

I looked up google and found some results. The most recent results were from Feb 2014. Clicked on the link which took me to article published in Feb 2014 The screenshots were nowhere close to what Linkedin looks like today.

Google had a first snippet image below

linkedinold

Results which came back were not satisfactory. This gives tips on how to delete single message which was never a problem. This does not say how do I delete multiple messages. The answer completely ignored the word multiple messages and also the search result was from Feb 2014. I followed the link which was good, but the screenshot given in the linked page was not relevant in Oct 2015.

I tried using some filter with my google search as the previous result was from Feb 2014. I picked Past year from google search tools  dropdown. The following result came back.

linkedinnew

Still no luck.
In case, you have any idea how is the message deleted please go to our facebook page write in your answer or leave comments and we will gladly write about that here so that people might get some help.

Another help came from another member pointing towards a YouTube Video.
